Firefighting system valve classification and selection skills
Fire fighting system valve
one,butterfly valve:
Rated water working pressure should not be less than 175psi. The valve shall be equipped with a weatherproof, indoor or outdoor gear actuator with handwheel, raised position indicator and two built-in monitoring switches. The valve body is made of ductile iron conforming to the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTMA395 or A536 standard, and the valve stem is made of 400 series stainless steel. The valve connection method is flat type (wafer type), which can be used to install and connect between 125/150 class flanges or IPS pipes. This type of valve should obtain the American UL certification, FM certification, and meet the MSS-SP67 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
2. Gate valve:
The rated water working pressure should be above 175psi, and the material of the valve body and bonnet is cast bronze alloy conforming to the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTMB62 standard.valveThe structure is OS&Y and threaded connection. The valve shall be certified by UL and FM in the United States, and comply with the MSS-SP80 standard of the American Valve and Pipe Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
Available valves:
NIBCO T-104-O gate valve
High stem gate valve:
The rated water working pressure is not less than 300psi. The material of OS&Y bonnet and valve body shall be cast iron alloy conforming to ASTMA126 Class B standard of American Society for Testing and Materials. The valve connection should beflangeConnection, and use 250-pound or 300-pound flange. This type of valve should pass the US UL certification, FM certification or meet the MSS-SP70 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
Available valves:
NIBCO F-697-B gate valve
three,ball valve:
The rated water working pressure should be above 175psi, and use PTFE valve seat. These valves should be configured with a weatherproof gear actuator, for indoor/outdoor use, with a raised position indicator and two built-inmonitorswitch. This type of valve should be threaded or slotted, and has obtained UL certification and FM certification in the United States, and complies with the MSS-SP110 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
Available standard runner valves:
American NIBCO KT-505 ball valve (threaded connection)
NIBCO KG-505-8W ball valve (slotted connection)
Pipeline control valve with diameter above DN65
And in line with the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association MSS-SP70 standard.
Available valves and indicator columns:

NIBCO M-609 or M-607-RW underground mechanical connection gate valve
American NIBCO NIP1-AJ vertical indicator column
American NIBCO NIP2-AJ wall indicator column
Ball valve: The rated water working pressure is not less than 175psi. Valves shall be equipped with PTFE seats, threaded connections, blowout proof stem and rod handle. Such valves should be certified by UL in the United States, FM certified for drainage systems, or meet the MSS-SP110 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
Available valves:
NIBCO KT-585-70UL ball valve (diameter DN8~DN25)
NIBCO KT-580-70UL ball valve (diameter DN32~DN50)
Four,Shut-off valve/Angle valve:
The rated water working pressure is not less than 175psi. The valve shall be equipped with a rubber seated disc and threaded ports. Such valves should be certified by UL in the United States for drainage systems.
Available valves:
NIBCO KT-65-UL globe valve or KT-211-WUL globe valve
NIBCO KT-67-UL angle valve or T-301-W angle valve
five,check valve:
The rated water working pressure is not less than 175psi. The valve shall be equipped with a rubber seated disc and threaded ports. The valve should be a Y-shaped horizontal swing type. This type of valve should comply with the MSS-SP80 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
Available valves:
NIBCO KT-403-W check valve
Check Valve: This type of check valve should be rated for water working pressure not less than 175 psi, with bronze trim and rubber-to-metal seats. The valve body material should be ASTMA126 grade B cast iron alloy. Connection ports should be flanged or flat (wafer). Valves should be certified by UL and FM in the United States, and comply with the MSS-SP71 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association. Available valves:
NIBCO F-908-W Flange Check Valve
NIBCO KW-900-W flat check valve (wafer type)
Pipeline control valve with diameter above DN65
High stem check valve:
The rated water working pressure is not less than 300psi. This type of check valve should be a horizontal swing check valve with bronze trim. The material of OS&Y bonnet and valve body should be cast iron alloy conforming to ASTMA126 level B standard of the American Society for Testing and Materials. The valve connection method should be flange connection, and adopt 250-pound or 300-pound flange. This type of valve should pass the US UL certification, FM certification or meet the MSS-SP70 standard of the American Valve and Fitting Manufacturers Standardization Association.
